Fun, Fun, Fun! - Summer Youth Trips

It's cold outside, but that doesn't mean we can't be thinking about warm rays of sunshine, beautiful hikes in the Rockies, and all of the awesome trip offerings for youth this summer!

We're of course excited for Cathedral Camp (June 17 - 23) for all 3rd graders through High School Youth, a week long opportunity to craft, play camp games, form (and reform) new and old friendships, and grow closer to God in the beautiful outdoor Sanctuary that is Cathedral Ridge. We can't wait to see you at camp this summer! Registration begins THIS SUNDAY, January 15th! Sign up early because spaces go FAST!

In addition to camp, we are also extremely excited about 3 mission trip opportunities, including one hosted by the Cathedral! Last year we sent 3 youth who had a BLAST! All trips are hosted by Young Episcopalians in Service (YES!), led by Tina Clark, our incoming Christian Formation Director. I (John) am also on the planning team, and we are both very passionate about these fun and meaningful trips! Here are the trip offerings (sign up information will be updated on this post shortly!):

CLENDENIN, WV: June 3-9, 2018
High School (Rising 9th graders by youth minister or clergy recommendation. New High School grads welcome!)

This already struggling area was hit hard by floods in 2016, and we will be part of ongoing recovery efforts organized by Next Step Ministries, who combine short term service travelers like us with long term development efforts to raise the community in right relationship.

$799 ($100 deposit due at registration)

DENVER, CO: July 22-27, 2018 (DENVER JUICE - Justice: Urban Immersive Cooperative Experience) Middle and High School (Rising 6th graders by youth minister or clergy recommendation. New High School grads welcome!)

Explore the causes and impacts of poverty and injustice right here in our own backyard, while learning to see the city in new and exciting ways! Even lifelong Denverites will learn new things about their beloved city and have a blast doing it!

$199 ($50 deposit due at registration)

TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS: July 6-15, 2018 Young Adults (Must graduate High School this year or earlier.)

This is an exceptional opportunity to visit and serve El Hogar, a home and school where children are safe, loved, and educated for a vibrant future in which they can be a part of improving their homeland. This trip is organized in part by our very own Pamela Kniss! Don't miss out! Email Young Episcopalians in Service for more information!

 $1500

See you this Summer!
